Job Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring quality assurance before galvanized material is moved into the storage yard.
  • Following customers’ shop order packing instruction, and recording the shop order, the number of items, weights, and location of storage.
  • Processing materials through the caustic cleaner and the sulfuric acid pickle tanks.
  • Inspecting racked material for safety and proper racking procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 – 4 years’ of previous experience in a galvanizing and/or steel fabrication environment, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Job Summary

This position maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.  Electrical knowledge and experience is a plus. Required to work on all assigned task and will work under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor.  Demonstrate the ability to repair, troubleshoot and upgrade a variety of industrial machines and equipment in our steel manufacturing facility.  In this role you will complete maintenance service and repairs of plant equipment, machinery, etc.  You will maintain buildings and plant facilities in clean, orderly and working conditions.  Responsible for building a positive working relationship across other departments with a main focus on production.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematic, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  2. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  3. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  4. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  5. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  6. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.

Operator 1 – (Euless &Kaufman)
This position follows leads instructions regarding daily jobs. Assemble work tools for the day. Check tooling to assure correct hole sizes are in place. Check that all safety guards are in proper position and working order.

Operator 2 – (Kaufman & Haltom City)

This position assists main operator and informs supervisor of any malfunctions. Visually inspects and checks to make sure parts are within tolerance before bending.

Job Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for storing, moving, handling and distributing materials. They take materials from one location to another and may be involved in the process of extracting and loading the materials to be transported.  A materials handler has a very structured work environment to minimize safety risks. Each job is planned in detail and safety issues are addressed before a job begins.  Working as a materials handler doesn’t require formal education, but does entail extensive on-the-job training. Other requirements might include a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Shifts: 2nd

Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Experience in working in steel industry or galvanizing, plus.
  • Ability to be forklift and overhead crane certified and operate a forklift and overhead crane. (Forklift experience required).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily operations and forklift safety checks, including battery, seat belt, brakes, life control and fire extinguisher.
  • Identifies many types of raw material, in process or finished product, equipment, or processing materials.
  • Checks identification of materials to be moved. Cross-references with production schedule or shipping schedule to ensure accuracy.
  • Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull load and move materials to correct work area.
  • Reports inconsistencies or problems to supervisors
  • Receive, document, store, stage and issue all job related material to satisfy production requirements.
  • Support assembly / fabrication requirements, as necessary. Overtime is sometimes needed in order to accomplish all required tasks.
  • Assist operators in delivering Fabrication parts in order to maximize department efficiency.
  • Remove and distribute empty pallets and buckets as needed.
  • Select, prepare & update paperwork and schedules both on paper and computer.
  • Package, create and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging and to create a safe work environment.
  • Apply labels, stickers, and stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping.
  • Comply with all safety requirements including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and yard trucks to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, reporting shortages/overages and supply needs to supervisor.

Job Summary:
Intermediate & Senior level position(s) responsible for ensuring the highest degree of product quality is achieved via current manufacturing processes. This position will work with company-wide QA/QC team and fabrication crews to establish quality standards and procedures, and identify quality improvement opportunities.

Primary duties will include dimensional checking of structurally fabricated steel, weld size and quality and general compliance with fabrication to the specified detail drawings as well as AWS specifications. Ideal candidates will already hold the AWS Certified Weld Inspector designation.

Position is responsible for verifying conformance of product to contract requirements through:

  • Dimensional checks
  • Visual inspection of welds
  • Nondestructive testing if qualified

Responsibilities:

  • Has overall responsibility for performing the daily quality functions at the assigned plant.
  • Ensure that the fabricated steel will fit as planned, meets customer specifications, and inspections are completed as required to support workflow and sequence.
  • Reports and maintains inspection results.
  • Performs in-process inspections on most types of fabrication, welding and assembly of structural steel.
  • Interprets drawings, customer specifications and standards of moderate complexity.
  • Works with other QA/QC inspectors to organize inspection work to be done on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Assists in identifying and solving quality non-conformances in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Assists shop employees with questions and clarifications on QC issues as needed.
  • Works with QA/QC team to ensure the quality control program designed to make sure continuous production of products consistent with established standards is implemented and being followed.
  • Addresses quality issues related to non-conforming material or components, and obtain timely disposition in order to maintain production flow.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (AWS D1.1) preferred.
  • Level II MT, PT, UT certifications highly desirable.
  • As an equivalent to the above educational requirements, formal technical training as a welder and five to seven years of on-the-job experience as a welder or welding operator may be substituted for the post-high school education requirement.   • Has overall responsibility for performing the visual inspection of welded joints at the assigned plant.
  • Ensure that the fabricated steel is welded as planned, meets customer specifications, and inspections are completed as required to support workflow and sequence.
  • Reports and maintains inspection results. Prepares documentation required by the customer for certification that all quality procedures were followed.
  • Performs in-process weld inspections on poles and heavy structural steel welded assemblies.
  • Monitoring, and executing activities related to ensuring that inspections of welded assemblies are completed to the requirements of applicable specifications and codes.
  • Reads new project specifications.
  • Interprets drawings, customer specifications and standards of moderate complexity.
  • Is responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager in administering the AISC program at assigned plant. Ensures that ALL production-related employees understand and follow applicable AISC standards, and that the shop is prepared for the annual AISC audit. Support the Quality Control Manager during AISC audits.
  • Works with other QA/QC inspectors to organize inspection work to be done on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Assists in identifying and solving quality non-conformances in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Assists shop employees with questions and clarifications on QC issues as needed.

The Shipping & Receiving Handler is responsible for following shipping and receiving procedures for all incoming and outgoing product. All-around position for busy custom metal fabrication shop. Includes shipping and receiving and preparing items for shipment such as building crates, banding, and packing. Move material, load and unload trucks with forklift. Requires high mechanical aptitude, a desire and willingness to work wherever needed. Needs good awareness of surroundings, ability to move quickly from one job to the next, and maintain focus, quality, and accomplishment of tasks. Ability to plan, think ahead and work in a proactive manner. Keep shop neat and organized. Other requirements might include a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Experience in working in steel industry or galvanizing, plus.
  • Ability to be forklift and overhead crane certified and operate a forklift and overhead crane. (Forklift experience required).
  • Ability to run production equipment such as plasma, brake, punch, saw, or grinding a plus.

Job Summary

Job purpose of shipping supervisor is to supervise processes and procedures in receiving and shipping department. Records time, date, quantity, source, and destination of materials received or shipped. Ensures that goods are verified against records of shipment. Oversees the inspection of goods received. Supervises the maintenance of records of damaged or defective items and discrepancies in quantities and weights.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED from a reputable institution

Responsibilities

  • Supervises employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment.
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Calculates estimated costs associated with the shipping/delivery function and recommends appropriate alternatives.
  • Ensures compliance with DOT regulations including the review of daily driver’s log sheets, accident reporting and investigation, drug testing requirements, and transportation equipment maintenance.

Job Summary

Delivers steel and equipment to various job sites.  CDL-B (A preferred).  Must be proficient in operating flatbed trailers.

Responsibilities:

  • Will operate tractor/trailer in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local laws with regard to run times and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Conducts pre-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer prior to each trip.
  • Checks gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions, and conduct inspection of vehicle before and during trips to determine problems that may be occurring.
  • Required to load and unload trucks, inspect trucks for accuracy of order, compliance with weight restrictions and effectively secure the cargo.

Required Qualifications:
