JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Steel Fabrication Production Manager or Plant Manager, the Welding Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations and responsibilities of the Welding Department, including planning, staffing, monitoring, and safely delivering welding projects according to schedule and budget.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree or completion of Welding Technical Training in the area/s of: Welding Technology, Welding Engineering, Welding and Fabrication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or related field prefer.
  • Must possess High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 5-10 years supervisory experience (including coaching, delegation, trainings, and follow-up evaluation) in steel fabrication or similar industry.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the layout, fitting, assembly, and welding of steel structures
  • Experience in Transmission & Distribution and Utilities industry, strongly preferred
  • Bilingual – Spanish/English Preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

As a Welding Supervisor, for electric utility transmission, substation, and distribution industry, the ideal incumbent possesses:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manages the responsibilities of the welding department
  2. Maintains status of welding department work orders and tracks departmental performance

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Shift Lead, the responsibilities of the Fitter/Welder position include fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules. As a Fitter/Welder you will work in coordination with the Shift Lead and other senior management to ensure that the entire customer product is Fit and Welded to the specifications of each job and meets the outlined requirements. Consistent production of quality UT passable welds. Maintain production level as determined by supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding duties using a wire welder.
  • Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts.
  • Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to weld in various directions: flat and horizontal.
  • Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.
  • Work with fitters or fitters/welders to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobs needs.
  • Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
  • Examining work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat bending, grinding, or bolting component parts to obtain required configurations and positions.
  • Read, understand and follow job order specifications engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.

Job Summary

The Cost Accountant is responsible for product costing, product manufacturing analysis, inventory valuation, and Percentage of Completion calculations. The position reports to and works with the Controller to assist in analyzing financial information and preparing project cost reports detailing revenue, costs, and profits of ongoing and completed customer orders.  This position will have substantial responsibility analyzing Cost of Goods Sold reports, monitoring job profitability, and assisting in the month-end close process and preparation of multi-plant financial and operational reports along with other projects as assigned. The position provides recommendations to senior management in support of the achievement of Company goals.

Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance and a minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or related field.
  • 3+ plus years of cost accounting and general ledger experience.
  • 3+ plus years of operational experience, especially with inventory.

  • Maintain, review, and audit costs for ongoing and completed customer projects.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with all preparation of products and materials for the galvanizing process by hanging angle on spreader bars, staging tubular products, and preparing small parts for galvanizing.

Responsibilities

  1. Inspect and identify unsafe production fixtures, chains, and hooks to ensure proper repair or discard unsafe items
  2. Hand wire small to medium-sized parts to racks for pickling or galvanizing
  3. Pull and place chains and ropes around steel bundles for racking
  4. Move lightweight pieces of steel by hand from different locations in the plant and yard
  5. Perform paddling functions to enhance the quality level of the various galvanized products using air guns to blow off zinc needles
  6. Use air or electric powered tools to help prepare steel for pickling or galvanizing
  7. Assist in general plant clean up and housekeeping

Job Summary

This position maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.  Electrical knowledge and experience is a plus. Required to work on all assigned task and will work under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor.  Demonstrate the ability to repair, troubleshoot and upgrade a variety of industrial machines and equipment in our steel manufacturing facility.  In this role you will complete maintenance service and repairs of plant equipment, machinery, etc.  You will maintain buildings and plant facilities in clean, orderly and working conditions.  Responsible for building a positive working relationship across other departments with a main focus on production.

  1. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematic, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  2. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  3. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  4. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Responsibilities:

The Material Handler is responsible for storing, moving, handling and distributing materials. They take materials from one location to another and may be involved in the process of extracting and loading the materials to be transported.  A materials handler has a very structured work environment to minimize safety risks. Each job is planned in detail and safety issues are addressed before a job begins.  Working as a materials handler doesn’t require formal education, but does entail extensive on-the-job training. Other requirements might include a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Shifts: 1st

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily operations and forklift safety checks, including battery, seat belt, brakes, life control and fire extinguisher.
  • Identifies many types of raw material, in process or finished product, equipment, or processing materials.
  • Checks identification of materials to be moved. Cross-references with production schedule or shipping schedule to ensure accuracy.
  • Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull load and move materials to correct work area.
  • Reports inconsistencies or problems to supervisors
  • Receive, document, store, stage and issue all job related material to satisfy production requirements.
  • Support assembly / fabrication requirements, as necessary. Overtime is sometimes needed in order to accomplish all required tasks.
  • Assist operators in delivering Fabrication parts in order to maximize department efficiency.
  • Remove and distribute empty pallets and buckets as needed.
  • Select, prepare & update paperwork and schedules both on paper and computer.
  • Package, create and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging and to create a safe work environment.
  • Apply labels, stickers, and stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping.

Experience:

  • Possess 5-10 or more years of supervisory and management experience in the steel fabrication or similar industry.  Transmission & Distribution and Utilities, industry a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Will operate tractor/trailer in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local laws with regard to run times and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Conducts pre-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer prior to each trip.

As a part of the estimating team, this position’s primary responsibility will be to ensure the completion of accurate and timely quotations and RFP responses for our customers.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing plans and specifications in detail to become completely familiar with the scope of work involved.
  • Performing needed takeoffs of the plans to establish benchmarks for later subcontractor and supplier quote comparisons and as an aid in estimating direct labor and material costs.
